{"id":9786,"date":"2016-10-05T12:53:10","date_gmt":"2016-10-05T10:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.medwellness.it\/?p=9786"},"modified":"2016-10-06T10:26:17","modified_gmt":"2016-10-06T08:26:17","slug":"il-miele-di-manuka-aiuta-a-combattere-infezioni-contratte-attraverso-i-macchinari-ospedalieri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.medwellness.it\/en\/il-miele-di-manuka-aiuta-a-combattere-infezioni-contratte-attraverso-i-macchinari-ospedalieri\/","title":{"rendered":"Manuka honey could fight off deadly infections in hospital equipment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Researchers at Southampton University (UK) found that cleansing medical equipment with solutions derived from the Australia and New Zealand-based honey reduced the potentially deadly bacteria on surfaces by more than seventy five per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Manuka honey, which has long been used as a remedy against infections, stopped bugs building up on catheters in tests.<\/p>\n<p>The discovery could transform safety for groups at particular risk of bacterial infections, such as the inpatients who use a catheter, thousands of whom suffer from urinary tract bacterial infections.
